Knocking it out the park
By now, you will have heard that the legendary Jim Beam Homegrown is about to have its final hurrah in Wellington. This is your last chance to catch this Kiwi music festival on home turf as the 18th edition unfolds in spectacular fashion across two dates and five stages at Waitangi Park and along our sparkling waterfront.
Festival director Andrew Tuck says Homegrown is moving cities for a myriad of personal and logistical reasons.
“We couldn’t be more grateful for the unwavering support we’ve had from fans and the city. The support from WellingtonNZ and Wellington City Council has been massive over the years, so we’re keen to knock this last one out of the park as a heartfelt thank you to Wellington.”
Part of the team signing off in style is the inclusion of the extra night at Waitangi Park’s Jim Beam Park Stage. Friday the 14th of March will serve as the perfect warm up with acts including Che Fu, Lee Mvtthews, and Stan Walker before finishing off with SYNTHONY: an unparalleled experience that reimagines the biggest dance tracks with a full live orchestra and light show.
Saturday the 15th of March sees all five stages bursting with over 50 of the best acts in Aotearoa, from Shapeshifter, Sir Dave Dobbyn, Kaylee Bell, Nesian Mystik, Alien Weaponry, The Black Seeds, and Mitch James to Katchafire, I Am Giant, The Beths, Elemeno P, SWIDT, Aaradhna, Kings, and Drax Project. To boot, one performance will be extra fitting for Homegrown’s farewell to the capital: local rock legends Shihad in their last-ever gig!
Get amongst this celebration of incredible music, memories, and the creative community that have made it all possible.
