Love, light, vibes by Madelaine Empson
10:32 is bringing a big groove party to Pōneke. Performing their new single Coffee Shop Girl and a preview of what’s to come, the London-based soul collective will play Rogue & Vagabond on the 11th of March, plus a laid-back afternoon sideshow at People’s Coffee in Newtown and a 6pm gig at Raumati Social Club in Kapiti the following day.
Coffee Shop Girl was inspired by a band member’s crush on someone at their local coffee shop and grew into a song about “falling in love with the possibility of things getting better”.
“A coffee is what you drink in the morning to get you started – it’s full of potential – a spark, an energy of looking forward to seizing the day”, lead vocalist Bridget Walsh says.
“Coffee Shop Girl is our first release from when we escaped to a farm in rural Oxfordshire in 2021 to conjure up a new record. It feels right to start this new 10:32 chapter with that same fresh energy.”
10:32 burst onto the scene at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2018. Since then, they’ve released the celebrated EP Aequus Animus and played international dates across the UK, Aotearoa, Australia, and the USA, including London’s revered Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and Electric Brixton, where they opened for SIX60. Known for taking their audiences on a tasty adventure through jazz and hip-hop, R&B and house, synths and chakra-shaking breakdowns, 10:32 brings big love, big light, and big vibes.
