The nectar of the gods by Alessia Belsito-Riera

Whether you pray to the ancient gods or the new ones, make offerings to saintly souls or bargains with devilish demons, step into a world where divinity meets darkness and celestial creatures share the stage with fearsome beasts at Gods, Myths & Monsters: A Pride Drag Show.

Prepare for a night of jaw-dropping performances, larger-than-life looks, and divine energy as queens, kings, and creatures channel the power of mythology. From Medusa’s mesmerising stare to the untamed fury of a vengeful deity, the witchcraft of Hecate to the destructive energy of Kali, witness the legends of old reborn in glitter, glamour, grace, and glory.

Descending from the heavens and clawing their way up from the underworld to walk amongst mere mortals are Eddie D’amore, Faux Femm, Foxy Cleptopatra, Myrtle Montgomery, Ms Leading, Pita Pocket, Rover Stimulation, and Yolanda. Will you worship them? Will you tremble? Or will you dare to dance with the gods themselves?

Gods, Myths & Monsters honours and celebrates queer-coded figures throughout history and mythology,” organiser Faux Femm says. “These performances pay tribute to religious pluralism beyond the constraints of colonialism, highlighting the countless deities who shift between genders and embrace canonically queer relationships. Queerness is embedded in the myths that seek to explain humanity’s origins”.

The stage spectacle of biblical proportions opens the Ivy Bar and Cabaret gates at 9pm on the 15th of March. Dressing up is encouraged, demigods are welcome, so bare your sigil, grip your talismans, and imbibe the nectar of the gods at Gods, Myths & Monsters: A Pride Drag Show.
